Blue Faery Award Winner

Blue Faery is proud to announce that Dr. Jorge Marrero, Director of the University of Michigan's Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Clinic, is the 2010 Blue Faery Award winner. Dr. Marrero published 23 articles on HCC-related topics from 2008 – 2009. Currently, he is involved in studies that examine new therapies for HCC, the most exciting of which inhibits blood vessel growth in tumors. Upon receiving the award, Dr. Marrero commented, "I am truly honored to have been recommended by the Blue Faery board members. I am aware of Adrienne Wilson's case and of the liver cancer association in her name. I have a passion for doing research in liver cancer."
Blue Faery will celebrate Dr. Marrero ’s achievement by donating toward his innovative research and by giving him a commemorative Blue Faery Award plaque. Adrienne would have been 24 years old today if she had survived her battle with liver cancer.

In the March edition of Southwest Airlines Spirit magazine, Blue Faery is mentioned in a "Meet Burbank" city profile. Along with other Burbank business owners, our president Andrea Wilson was interviewed for the article. Blue Faery also placed an ad in the magazine promoting our mission in an effort to make the general public aware that liver cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the world and the third largest cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
Blue Faery's website redesigned

Thanks to the team at Counterintuity, Blue Faery's website has been redesigned to include a new section specifically for doctors where you can meet our Advisory Board, order our HCC Brochures, see which Treatment Centers carry our brochures and learn about the Blue Faery Award. Blue Faery has also created the Adrienne Wilson Spirit Award for patients. Due to our new navigation bar, Adrienne's story has been moved under the"About Us" tab; the link to her online journal is still available as well as additional materials that were not previously released on our website.
