For past liver cancer news, visit our Liver Cancer News Archive page. 15 December 2009 Blue Faery is now accepting applications and nominations for the 2010 Blue Faery Award (BFA) for Excellence in Liver Cancer Research. Last year, Dr. Snorri S. Thorgeirsson, a doctor with the National Cancer Institute who has devoted his career to fighting liver cancer, became the first Blue Faery Award recipient. Dr. Thorgeirsson was honored and stated, "I am of course aware and deeply respectful of your untiring dedication to advance research in Liver Cancer. This award is certainly a stimulus to vigorously continue our quest to conquer this dreadful disease.” Blue Faery celebrated Dr. Thorgeirsson’s achievement by donating toward his innovative research and by giving him a commemorative Blue Faery Award plaque. Every year, Blue Faery plans to announce the winner of the BFA on Adrienne Wilson's birthday---April 8.
